Samsung Europe Office (EO) is seeking to further increase the success of its direct to consumer (D2C) eStore eCommerce offering to customers.

The European Ecommerce Senior Manager needs to be a highly experienced, strategically focused leader with experience driving excellence in distributed European ecommerce D2C eStores. Advising our European markets on strategy, technology, customer, adaptation and conversion enhancement. They should be able to collaborate with a broad range of senior partners across Samsung, to promote their vision and approach and will be encouraged to engage fully with HQ to drive improvements in European eCommerce; driving revenue and conversion in our $1bn European wide eStores. This ecommerce leader will work with markets and be the voice or our markets to shape the Samsung.com ecommerce offering. Working with our Eastern European Ecommerce team this leader will provide thought leadership both internally and externally and will be tasked with building and leading a strategic vision for our D2C eStore, identifying and delivering projects that drive revenue, conversion and process improvements.

Role and Responsibilities

Key objectives

  • Support & drive D2C business growth of our eStore markets – Revenue & Conversion
  • Be a strong voice of our European markets to HQ, seeking enhancements in eStore functionality to address issues that prevent revenue & conversion growth
  • Identify and deliver projects that drive revenue, conversion and efficiency in eStore
  • Key Responsibilities
  • Create and develop a European eStore strategy
  • Drive Revenue & Conversion in all our European eStores
  • Act as a “voice of the customer” for eCommerce system development to HQ in Korea.
  • Develop European eCommerce D2C strategies to increase revenue
  • Stakeholder management of European eCommerce managers & other senior partners
  • Identify and resolve issues blocking success
  • Support markets with sales, merchandising, promotions and stock management
  • Optimise logistics and fulfilment of eCommerce orders
  • Support issue resolution
  • Report on eStore performance
  • Support flagship launches and other such major eCommerce events on Samsung.com

Skills and Qualifications

What we need for this role

To be successful, you will possess the following skills and attributes:

  • Leadership experience in eCommerce roles, not as only a ‘platform specialist’ but as a strategic advisor.
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end eCommerce strategy from UX to CRO to performance to Omni-channel integration and more, and be avidly aware of cross regional dynamics and emerging trends and technologies.
  • Bring an in-depth understanding of performance marketing. In-depth practical and theoretical knowledge of Digital media and analytical techniques would be a strong advantage
  • The ability to both present to an audience in an articulate and engaging manner and develop one-on-one relationships with partners.
  • Ability to interact with people at all levels of an organisation, encouraging strong cross-functional teamwork.
  • Willing to challenge HQ, markets and colleagues based on proven case knowledge and experience
  • You should be culturally flexible and enjoy working with teams from across different countries, and be comfortable travelling if required
  • You will be a credible ambassador for the European office and it’s eCommerce services.
  • You will have worked at a European/Global level for a corporate enterprise. Ideally, in a commercial leadership role.

Skills/experience required:

  • Experience growing sales and conversion of D2C estores
  • Leadership of eCommerce team and stratgies
  • Supply Chain Management experience
  • Experience of Hybris, desirable
  • Programme/Project Management experience
  • Digital Awareness
  • Builds sound relationships with market leadership, market teams on a global (HQ), regional and local level.
  • Demonstrates experience and skills in delivering commerce consultancy projects
  • Strong commercial aptitude
  • Has a good level of maturity and has strong management experience of working within direct (line-management) and indirect (matrix) teams.
  • Manage the demands of internal and external stakeholders – plans and prioritises workload to ensure work gets delivered and challenges are solved.
  • Must possess strong written, presentation, analytical, quantitative, verbal, organisational and interpersonal skills

What does success look like?

The ideal candidate will have a blend of commercial focus, programme/project management and D2C operations experience. We need an individual to lead and support D2C growth so that markets can focus on local sales campaigns. Success will require outstanding stakeholder management, tenacity, diplomacy, flexibility and commercial awareness.

  • Receiving and processing incoming sales orders in a speedy and accurate manner
  • Advising customers of receipt, prices, shipping dates, and delays and handling customer requests & complaints.
  • Collaborate closely with 3rd party logistics company regarding inbound/outbound including securing booking slots.
  • Handling weekly order fulfillment planning and execution.
  • Update customer demand forecast on the system based on customer demand and stock availability.
  • Critical metric performance management such as forecast accuracy, inventory management.
  • Manage internal weekly/monthly business reports.
  • Work closely with SEUK AR team in regards to credit control/limitation, billing/invoice reference.
  • Working with the Business Innovation team to review processes for operational efficiency.
