Job Description

We aim to provide staff and customers alike with responsive and inclusive digital technology so that they can more effectively operate in an increasingly interconnected and digitally enabled world.We’re looking for a dynamic, confident and highly motivated individual to direct the activity of the applications and platform development teams, incorporating DevOps and release planning.You should have substantial senior management experience in an IT development field, experience of managing the security and risk aspects of ICT application management and of creating and delivering technology vision and route maps.

You should have experience of managing projects including a proven ability to achieve targets and the ability to analyse data and produce relevant reports, manage multi-changing demands and meet tight deadlines. You will be required to delivery and contribute to strategic initiatives and policies, and to present to Council boards and committees.

You must demonstrate evidence of continuous professional development and be educated to degree/SVQ4/HND standard or equivalent in a relevant discipline. Strong leadership, excellent negotiating skills and an ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders are essential requirements. A leadership and/or management qualification is desirable, but not essential.

You will be joining a dynamic and flexible team within Business Solutions who currently operate an agile model of home-working and office-based work at the Civic Square offices in Motherwell.  You will be required to participate in an out of hours standby rota and will be expected to assist in responding to Corporate and Service emergencies.
