The length of our recruiting process varies for each individual applicant. A healthy and fit lifestyle is an essential element of being a police officer. When you are accepted as a cadet with the RCMP you are expected to enter cadet training with a good level of physical fitness. The training program is not designed to “get in shape”, but rather to allow you to enhance your fitness knowledge and abilities.
It is extremely important for you to maintain and/or improve your fitness level throughout the application process to ensure your success both at training and in your career as a police officer.
Why is it important to maintain and improve my fitness level? for RCMP Jobs
Within the first two weeks of training you will be required to successfully complete the Physical Abilities Requirement Evaluation (PARE) in 5 minutes and 30 seconds or less. If you fail on the first try, you have to take it again within three days. If you fail the re-test, you will be sent home. You will be tested again prior to graduation, and will be required to complete the PARE in 4 minutes or less.
Be prepared! You want to arrive at Depot in good physical condition so that you do not risk injuring yourself or being terminated from the Cadet Training Program. Being physically fit will help make the training easier for you.

Cadet recruitment allowance for Royal Canadian Mounted Police Jobs
You will receive an allowance during your 26-week training. The current cadet recruitment allowance is $525/week. The RCMP also covers your room and board, uniform, training courses, insurance and travel to and from Depot.
If a cadet resigns or is terminated during training, or the two years following training, the RCMP may require repayment of any allowance received.
Canadian mounted police RCMP salary
When you successfully complete the Cadet Training Program and have been offered employment, you will be hired as a Constable at an annual salary of $53,144. Usually, within 36 months of service, your annual salary will have increased incrementally to $86,110.

Step Two: Write the RCMP Entrance Exam for RCMP Recruitment
The RCMP will contact successful applicants to write the Entrance Exam. Exam sessions are held in a number of cities and towns throughout the year.
If you have a Bachelor’s degree or a college diploma (minimum two-year) from a recognized Canadian* post-secondary institution, you do not have to write the exam. You’ll move on to the next step in the process. You will be asked to provide your university or college transcripts during the application process.
* If your education was obtained outside Canada, you must get an equivalency assessment. You can contact the Canadian Information Centre for International Credentials for more information.
Step Three: Complete and submit forms for RCMP Recruiting
If the RCMP selects you to continue in the process, you must download, complete and submit all forms by the deadline given to you. You will also need to provide various personal documents, such as:
- proof of education
- statement of driving record
- fingerprints, etc.
Step Four: Complete the pre-employment polygraph examination for RCMP Jobs
The pre-employment polygraph examination will review the questions and responses you provided in your applicant questionnaire (in Step Three). It will verify honesty and integrity.
Step Five: Have a health assessment
You’ll need to see an RCMP-designated physician for a health assessment, including full medical and psychological exams. The RCMP will cover the cost of these exams.
Step Six: Undergo a field investigation and security clearance
The final step in the application process is a field investigation and security clearance. The RCMP will conduct a thorough investigation into your background to help assess your character. If successful, you will receive your security clearance.
Once you have passed all the application and assessment steps you will be contacted to attend the RCMP Cadet Training Program.

RCMP Recruiting- This position reports to the CPIC Supervisor and involves terminal operation and clerical work relative to the provision and receipt of information that is processed within the Canadian Police Information Center (CPIC) system.
The incumbent operates CPIC, JUSTIN, and PRIME computer systems; codes and types information and requests; receives, decodes, and relays incoming information and data to appropriate recipients. Ensures all entries are processed accurately and rapidly.
An employee in this position will assist in liaising with internal and external contacts including provincial and federal crown and court registries, youth, adult, and supreme courts, other policing agencies, probation offices, and ministries across Canada.
Responds to enquiries or requests for CPIC data and provides CPIC information to authorized individuals and agencies. This position is accountable for the input and dissemination of information within the CPIC system and must maintain validations and verifications of all CPIC transactions within the jurisdiction of Burnaby.
An employee in this position will be required to review and verify all received information to be in compliance with CPIC Advisory, RCMP, and departmental policies and procedures and ensure Federal & Provincial standards are met prior to processing.
Generates occurrence files in PRIME and performs some (UCR) Uniform Crime Reporting scoring and coding in accordance with current policies and practices. Generates, reviews, and maintains CPIC files to ensure the quality of data/information is accurate.
Qualifications include for RCMP Jobs
