In a general supervision of a police supervisor, the police and law enforcement demonstrate a wide variety of activities, tasks are primarily service oriented and include information about disputes, mediation disputes, assistance through referral, property protection , Crime prevention, investigation and other public safety, order maintenance and emergency response services.

Duties include an element of personal danger, risk for adverse weather conditions, catching criminals, directing traffic and transporting prisoners. Incumbents follow duties in accordance with Florida state statues, city codes and established departmental policies, procedures and guidelines.

The incumbent should be able to act without close supervision and the sound should be able to use independent judgment. The work is reviewed through review of written reports for observation, conferences and received policies and compliance with established policies and procedures. In their absence, the supervisor can be authorized to observe the duties. Performs related work as required.

Florida Police Chief Salary

Competitive salary range $55,682- $69,328 (Certified), excellent benefits and take home car. Salary while in the academy – $43,252 (non-certified). The City of Margate is a participant in the Florida Retirement System .
