Job Description…

In autumn 2021, we’ll open the doors to Nuffield Health at St Bartholomew’s Hospital: The City of London’s only independent hospital, situated next to St Bartholomew’s NHS hospital. This will be our flagship centre for cardiac services and will also provide a full range of surgical and medical services, including: orthopaedics, oncology, general surgery, gynaecology and urology services.

The new hospital will consist of:

  • 48 inpatient and day case bedrooms
  • 28 consultation rooms
  • Three digital operating theatres
  • Cardiac catheterisation lab
  • Specialist intensive care beds
  • Oncology day unit
  • Endoscopy and minor ops theatre
  • Full diagnostic imaging suite including MRI, CT, ultrasound, mammography and general X-ray

We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated, committed and experienced Pharmacist to join our brand new Pharmacy team in our new London hospital .  Responsible for pharmaceutical supplies and management within the hospital  for all areas , you’ll enjoy the chance to make a real difference with Nuffield Health. We’ll expect you to actively contribute to the team and service development over the first few months of commissioning & to help prepare the hospital to open in 2021.

To support the clinical services within the new hospital we are looking for Specialist Pharmacists with experience/qualification in several key clinical areas –

  • Cardiac Surgery & Critical Care experience
  • Oncology & Cytotoxic regimes for days case chemotherapy provision
  • General Outpatient pharmacy as well as inpatient ward support.

Once the hospital is operational, you will work with the Pharmacy Manager and  Clinical Leads and along the way, you’ll build strong relationships with hospital senior leaders, a wide range of healthcare professionals and, of course, patients. Working collaboratively alongside the rest of the team , you’ll ensure patients benefit from the best possible services , equipment and care.

You will ideally have at least 2 years prior experience working in a similar role & hospital setting with high patient volumes and variety of specialities .  You will be responsible for medicines receipt and distribution across the site and will need to be flexible , committed and hardworking . Previous experience of IT/software systems for stock management would be useful , but on site training in the role can be provided.

To succeed as an Outpatients Manager, you will;

  • Be organised, highly motivated and engaged.
  • At least 2 years nursing management experience.
  • NMC and mentorship qualification.
  • Experience of outpatients nursing

Nuffield Health Jobs The outpatient manager will be responsible for:

  • Seventeen outpatients consultation rooms, two treatment rooms and pre-assessment.
  • Coordination and the safe delivery of minor operation lists
  • Coordinating the Nursing workforce to ensure patients receive high quality, compassionate, efficient care whilst in the department
  • Providing strong leadership to the outpatient and pre-assessment department and also a role model as a senior nurse within the hospital
