POSITION SUMMARY

Serves as the property Night Manager and directs all property operations during the overnight shift. Ensures that the highest levels of hospitality and service are provided during the overnight shift.  Represents Guest Services management in resolving any guest or property related situation.  Personally assisting in resolving any issues and completing tasks.  Empowers associates to provide excellent customer service and serves as a leader in displaying outstanding hospitality skills.

Monitors and assists the night audit procedure and frequently reviews/updates processes. Directs, monitors, and assists all overnight staff. Oversees all Health & Safety Standards in the property overnight, including Pool and Fitness Centre. Works with the Guest Services Manager to identify and implement action plans to prevent the reoccurrence of guest issues.

Reviews financial statements, sales and activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and to determine areas needing cost reduction and program improvement. Assists accounts team in all aspects of the auditing process.

Process all guest check-ins, verifying guest identity, form of payment, assigning room, and activating/issuing room key. Set up accurate accounts for each guest according to their requirements. Ensure rates match market codes, document exceptions. Secure payment prior to issuing room key, verify/adjust billing. Compile and review daily reports/logs/contingency lists. Complete cashier and closing reports. Supply guests with directions and property information. Accommodate guest requests, contacting appropriate staff if necessary. Follow up to ensure requests have been met. Process all payment types, vouchers, paid-outs, and charges. Balance and drop receipts. Count and secure bank at beginning and end of shift. Obtain manual authorizations and follow all Accounting procedures. Notify Loss Prevention/Security of any guest reports of theft.

Assist management in training, evaluating, counseling, motivating and coaching employees; serve as a role model and first point of contact of the Guarantee of Fair Treatment/Open Door Policy process. Develop/maintain positive working relationships; support team to reach common goals; listen and respond appropriately to employee concerns. Follow company policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; complete safety training and certifications; ensure personal appearance is clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets. Welcome and acknowledge guests; anticipate and address guests’ service needs; assist individuals with disabilities; thank guests with genuine appreciation. Speak using clear and professional language; prepare and review written documents accurately and completely; answer telephones using appropriate etiquette. Ensure adherence to quality standards. Enter and locate information using computers/POS systems. Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds without assistance. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.

Marriott Jobs POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Manager Project Support, Rooms Operations is a key part of the project team working on an ongoing project impacting all Marriott hotels throughout EMEA. The Senior Manager Project Support, Rooms Operations serves as a Rooms Discipline subject matter expert, and will be responsible for working closely with iT, Project Manager, L+D, Finance, Events, and other key disciplines to ensure successful deployment across the region. The role will take the lead on communicating with hotels, tracking progress of project milestones, influencing solutions and completion of required project tasks and identifies trends for recognition and/or concern.This position is preferred to be based from London or Eschborn and is based on a 12 months fixed term contract with preference for start date to commence by 1st Jan 2020.

CANDIDATE PROFILE
Marriott Jobs PREFERRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • 2+ years working in Rooms Operations
  • Strong system knowledge of Opera PMS, Digital Platforms, Empower: GXP
  • Strong communication skills – written and verbal
  • Strong influencing skills, communication and follow through especially in a virtual environment
  • Strong analytical abilities; experience in report creation and generation; ability to identify trends
  • Comfort in representing the needs and challenges faced by Rooms departments on property
  • Knowledge of deployment resources and tools
  • Strong organization / project management skills
  • Knowledge of languages relative to the hotels in EMEA portfolio (preferred not required)

EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION:

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent
  • 2+ years working in Rooms Operations – direct hotel experience preferred

  • Review job aids, documentation, training materials, and communications to ensure they are technically accurate and provide actionable support to hotels
  • Conduct supplemental training with properties as required (webinars or one-to-one troubleshooting)
  • Serve as escalation point for hotels, assisting with answering queries from hotels and sourcing solutions
  • Participate in calls with the hotels in conjunction with Change Management and Disciplines supporting the system cutovers
