Job Description

As Restaurant General Manager (RGM) you are our Number 1 business leader. 92% of people who work for brand KFC are led by Restaurant General Managers all across the UK & Ireland. Our RGM’s have a wealth of experience coming from a variety of backgrounds; from supermarkets, pubs, to high street retailers and even banks. As Restaurant General Manager you’ll help your team be their best selves through on the job training every day; You’ll care about making a difference to each team member’s personal growth and development and supporting them on the right way to do things. You’ll help build a team that knows how to have fun together even when the going gets tough. You’ll celebrate and recognise your team for achievements (big and small). EXPERIENCE: Leadership and development of a diverse team; strong positive communication skills; understanding of HR disciplinary and grievance processes advantageous.


When it comes to the people who put food on our tables, we care hard about treating every guest like a friend in our home. You’ll care about the things our guests care about which is: Tasty hot delicious food, served fast, with friendly service, making sure they get everything they ordered. You’ll need to be bit of a clean freak too making sure the team are all over the cleaning schedules for the restaurant and dining areas (Oh. And this includes the bathrooms). You’ll help train the team to be ready, willing and able to help our guests with any questions they may have when ordering at our digital touch screen kiosks; You’ll be an expert in making it right for them if anything ever goes wrong and work with your management team to review guest feedback and make the experience better and better. And here’s the truly fun part – you are empowered to use your imagination and help the team create “feel good” moments that bring a little joy to every visit.

EXPERIENCE: Retail & hospitality management, proven track record of improving the guest experience.


The Colonel had many jobs but first and foremost he was a chicken salesman. We love to sell chicken. In fact we believe every occasion is a potential fried chicken occasion. You’ll work with your team and Area Coach to plan for every potential opportunity, always keeping your finger on the pulse of what is happening in your community and with the competition; you’ll always be thinking about what might help your team sell more of the Colonel’s good stuff: finding ways to improve operational standards and the guest experience. Your team will be clear on the sales goal for every shift and just as pumped as you are to smash those sales records, win incentives and keep the chicken wings flying.

EXPERIENCE: Proven track record growing sales; decision making successes; commercial understanding. 


If you’ve dreamed of being a business entrepreneur then the experience doesn’t get better than this. You’ll roll up your sleeves and get stuck into the daily, weekly and monthly business reports for your restaurant working with your Area Coach to develop growth plans, really getting into the nitty gritty of what drives the profit after you’ve sold all of that good chicken. You will ensure good practice around all cash handling and in-store banking procedures. You’ll have a strong understanding of how to control costs including people deployment and making sure we’re on target. Every job has got to have some admin – the admin part of your role will be making sure all daily paperwork is completed. Our chicken is too good to waste so taking care that teams prepare what is needed and keep waste to a minimum is helpful too. Lastly, making sure our restaurants are fully stocked is important, you’ll help by making sure that we keep an eye on stock levels, order the correct supplies, and coach your team to check all deliveries so that we never disappoint our fans by running out of their favourites.

EXPERIENCE: Understanding of profit & loss drivers; decision making successes; cost management; commercial understanding.
