Job Specification…

Position Objective:
Responsible for uplifting the regional capability of the company’s Generator Distribution network to drive year on year growth and improved end-user experience, including South African & African footprint, distributor development, distributor compliance, performance management, appointments, retentions, and terminations which is underpinned by our distributor excellence framework that covers, foundational capability, market growth, aftermarket strategy, and service capability.  Keeping abreast of new technologies, recommending/sharing changes and trends seen in the field, and meeting sales goals in targeted markets.
Consistently enhances the image of the company.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
• 
Develops and services distribution network.
• Actively and consistently seeks new Distributors within the company’s focus markets
• Actively researches markets and potential distributors.
• Negotiate and set up new distributor relationships
• Build capacity in the distributor network and assist them to drive sales.
• Visits customers and potential customers to develop relationships Follow up on opportunities.
• Manages individual performance objectives/ targets.
• Meets established sales budget (revenue, profit, expense) goals
• Achieve key metrics (Distributor visits per week, prospect visits per week).
• Gives technical support in person, by email, and phone
• Delivers sales presentations and acquire Distributors in a professional manner
• Make product recommendations and presentations; in support of distributors and their customers when necessary and industry organizations in order to educate and inform.
• 
Inputs customer activities, competitive intelligence, and industry information daily, using the company’s CRM System.
• Follows-up in a timely manner to voicemail and email requests from management, peers, and other internal and external customers
• Manages major key accounts; develops a key account strategy and establishes long-term, ongoing relationships with multiple people in a customer’s organization.
• Travels with distributor sales representatives as well as travels alone to visit end-user customers.
• Manage stock checks and flow of business between distributers and the company.
• Attends industry and distributor trade shows
• Provides feedback to internal teams as well as with sales peers regarding competition, pricing, and marketing opportunities.
• Diligently communicates with industry leaders and enhances the company’s image
• Maintains and shares an understanding of industry trends and technical developments that effect target markets.
• Provides special updates to Management as is appropriate or requested
• Provide weekly updates of individual sales forecast to Directors
• Participates in scheduled Sales Conference calls
• Responsible for initiating 1:2:1 meeting with Director in order to provide feedback and regular updates.

Qualification and Experience

Essential Qualifications – Education, Experience, Skills:
• 
Qualified Diesel mechanic with Trade Certificate through a recognised/accredited institution;
• 5 – 10 years’ experience with generators
• Min 5 years sales management/key account management experience
• Well-developed sales skills
• Ability to make decisions and evaluations to determine the needs of the customers
• Ability to travel
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in both technical and business terms
• Excellent customer relations skills
• Treats all employees and customers with dignity, respect, and courtesy
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and prior use of a CRM tool to manage customer engagements and run sales reports
• Knowledge of target market industries

Minimum Requirements…

• Grade 12 (non-negotiable)
• Computer literacy
• 2-3 years frontline hotel/customer service experience

Work Experience:
