Job Description

Certified in two (2) job skill within production environment.  Responsible for completing job assignments, planning and scheduling work, making production and/or service-related decisions, and taking action on problems.  Jointly responsible for whole work processes, performing multiple tasks, and setting staffing plans and production goals for the current day with other team members. Provides information to other team members during shift overlap to improve overall plant performance.

KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Work Transfer Operator skill – •Remove work from the JetStream conveyor and sort onto the correct cart, depending on where the specific job type will process in post-print production. 50%•Deliver full carts of stacked work to correct post-print location.  20%•Assist JetStream operator with support tasks. 10%•Assist with wrapper task as needed. 5%•Partner with JetStream operator in performing end of shift duties and cleaning. 10%•Other duties as assigned. 5% 100%

 

Inserter skill – •Run Automated Insert Machine (i.e. GBR) while making basic mechanical repairs, based on product criteria, manually box/insert special items into the envelopes prior to running through sealer  – 80%•Meter mail and learn different postage rates, where appropriate. – 10%•Conduct quality audits on each job to ensure proper postage and stock – 5%•Other duties as assigned. 5% 100%

 

Boxer skill – •Places board with financial documents on workstations.  10%•Performs complete quality check on all cells; checks that all components belong to the same customer, checks the quality of the cut, consistent ink coverage, correct number of pads. 45%•Inserts any necessary flyers, surveys, etc. 10%•Creates necessary box that is required to box order completely.  10%•Tapes box or boxes 10%•Places mailing label on box and verifies label matches the name on each order.  5%•Cleans and restocks workstation as necessary. 5%•Other duties as assigned. 5% 100%

 

Jet Stream Operator skill – •Responsible for managing print jobs work in priority order, including prioritizing and selecting proper job setup. 40%•Responsible for doing minor repairs, autonomous and preventative maintenance, to ensure printer runs effectively. 20%•Responsible for completing shift production sheets, including the Jetstream/EMT activity log.5%•Responsible for performing to production standards. •Responsible for matching printed work against a proof for alignment, variable text and color. 15%•Performs required quality checks; moves work from conveyor and prepares it for bindery.  15%•Other duties as assigned. 5%•Jet Steam 3 operators on the Laser Process will box their own work. 100%

 

Automated Packaging System Operator / Checkfolio skill – •Operate the packaging system, monitoring overall performance, efficiency, and quality. Perform equipment start-up, shut-down.  50%•Sample and monitor product quality coming off the system, making modifications as needed. 20%•Troubleshoot packaging system performance and quality problems, correcting them and stabilizing performance as they occur.  20%•Replenish materials as needed and assures that the inserts are operating correctly. Maintains production, efficiency and quality records related to the packaging system operation. 5%•Other duties as assigned. 5% 100%

 

Digital Printer Operator (InTouch printer, OCE, Vario printer, and/or Digimaster printer) – •Responsible for the coordination of print jobs for the digital printing process.  5%•Creates host jobs.  5%•Releases host jobs.  5%•Prioritizes job tickets for stock collation.   5%•Ensures that each printer does not run out of work, through maintenance of the Job Release Check List.  5% •Responsible for all system reports (efficiency, down time log, shift run schedule).  10%•Perform quality inspection of completed work.  50% •Performs minor maintenance functions as follows: adjust bar-code reader; replace MICR toner bottle.  10%•Other duties as assigned. 5%•Digimaster operators on the Laser Process will box their own work. 100%

 

Cutter Operator skill – Cutter:•Moving jobs from carts to cutter. 40%•Moving each run order from stack. 5%•Pushing job into cutter, ensuring documents are even, pushes buttons for cutter blade to come down, turns documents around for consecutive cuts, pushes buttons for consecutive cuts, pulls jobs out of cutter, inspects cuts and moves jobs from cutter to carts.  40%•Stages work to go to the drill. 10%•Other duties as assigned. 5% 100%

 

Bielo Operator skill – •Operates bindery equipment in an efficient manner – moves work from conveyor to equipment; ensures work is even as it moves thru the equipment to prevent jams; pushes buttons to operate equipment; removes work from equipment; performs required quality checks; moves work from equipment to conveyor; cleans and restocks work station. 90%•Performs required preventative maintenance. 5%•Other duties as assigned 5% 100%

 

Folder Operator skill – •Stacking orders from cart on to folder, offloading orders after folding and stack on table, adding wire to order, clamping wire. 40%•Pushing job into cutter, use paddle to ensure documents are even, pushes buttons for cutter blade to come down, pulls jobs out of cutter, moves jobs from cutter to cart. 35% •Perform quality checks to guarantee accurate customer information, before sending to boxing/CPA1. 15%•Cleans and restocks workstation as necessary. 5%•Other duties as assigned. 5% 100%

 

DCIS – •Load DCIS feeder with stock, tags, and duplicates. 50%•Inspect finished print products for quality to include damage documents, double tags, duplicates,    alignment, and name verification. 20%•Gather and transfer finished product from conveyor to designated areas. 15%•Perform minor maintenance functions such as cleaning print sensors, cleaning belts, inspecting hoses for leaks, and inspecting for worn parts. 10%•Other duties as assigned  5% 100%

EDUCATION

High School Diploma or GED (Required)

EXPERIENCE

No Experience Entry level position, previous production experience a plus. (Preferred) No Experience Experience with operating a computer (mouse and keyboard)  (Preferred) No Experience Must be flexible and have the ability to work overtime and cover other shifts, sometimes on short notice.   (Required)
