Job Description

The mission of the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless is to work collaboratively toward the prevention of homelessness and the creation of lasting solutions for homeless and at-risk families, children, and individuals throughout Colorado. The Coalition advocates for and provides a continuum of housing and a variety of services to improve the health, well-being, and stability of those it serves.

The Colorado Coalition for the Homeless seeks a Human Resources Assistant to perform administrative tasks and services to support the effective and efficient operation of the Human Resources Department. This position will maintain employee information through the HRIS and employee files and support all members of the HR Team with ad hoc projects. This position is located at 730 21st Street, Denver, Colorado 80205 and reports to the Workforce Development & Training Manager.

Essential Job Functions
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resources department files, records, and documentation.
  • Provides specialized administrative support to the Chief Human Resources Officer.
  • Maintains Dayforce (HRIS) phone number changes, address changes, etc.
  • Coordinates the HR ticketing systems by reviewing and assigning tickets to appropriate HR staff.
  • Answers frequently asked questions from employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate HR staff or management.
  • Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
  • Assists in scheduling, making travel arrangements, and developing presentations for the HR team.
  • Maintains the CCH phone list, ordering supplies, distributing interoffice mail, printing anniversary cards, and maintaining CCH’s Eco and parking passes.
  • Assists with annual Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) evaluations.
  • Supports the HR Team with ad hoc projects as assigned including researching new HR vendors, platforms, and solutions when applicable.
  • Assists in the scheduling, ordering, set-up/breakdown, and general coordination of HR team events including food, materials, supplies, and venue reservations.
  • Assists in the creation and distribution of meeting agendas and records minutes from team meetings.
  • Processes HR-related invoices with Accounts Receivable including coding to the appropriate grant.
  • Manages the You ROCK! recognition and rewards program by tracking awards and distributing rewards to employees.
  • Conducts the employment authorization process using E-Verify; maintains the I-9 files as required by law.
  • Maintains all National Health Service Corps loan repayment participant information through the NHSC BHW web portal.
  • Processes requests for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) documentation.
  • Processes all third-party requests for verifications of employment, including former employee references.
  • Assists the Benefits Specialist to ensure up-to-date labor law information is always posted as required by law.
  • Conducts reports from Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons List and the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
  • Ensures and maintains the utmost privacy and confidentiality of all workforce-related information, including Protected Health Information (PHI), earnings, and performance information of employees and clients in compliance with CCH policy and relevant federal and state laws, rules and regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications Summary
